I had forgotten how a deadline focuses attention. Could be I’ve been retired so long, more probably the succession of lockdowns.

My last flying session of 2020, shortly before Christmas and lockdown 3, saw my WotsWot part company with its motor as I throttled up to start a loop. Having gathered the bits, decided it was repairable, I gamely picked up my UMX Beast for a final flight of the day. The last flying I did before lockdown was watch the Beast give up to G forces.
The first thing I did in lockdown 3 was laminate an appropriate thickness of ply for the WotsWot. Then I got distracted, until that nice Mr Boris waved a possible end date before us all…
