Exciting News! At last nights Club Meeting, Ron Gray announced a ‘Wacky Races’ Club Competition for 2023

We are going for a set of competitions, run throughout the year, using a single design model and largely based upon individually measured achievements…

Ron Gray is organising the competition rules and there will be a gathering in April 2023 to kick off the competitions.

The chosen model is a Hanky Planky, and was featured in the November 2022 RCM&E. You will need one built and tested by April 2023.

To take part, your model will have to comply with design and power rules. Details of these and a once in a lifetime offer from Ron to assist your build are available from the Competition tab above, or by clicking on the Hanky Planky picture below:

Competition details will be discussed and clarified at Club Meetings. They will be published on the website as they become clear. Right now, we know that an initial collective competition will take place in April. Thereafter events will be individually assessed by the model pilots, a bit like some of the free flight competitions that take place every year.

The Hanky Planky is designed to be made of balsa, but given current prices and some advantages of foam, Ron Gray opted to use Depron for the model he demonstrated last night.

If you want Ron to cut a set of foam parts and/or order a motor/prop/spar please let him know by email (address in members section – committee members details). Get an order in to Ron soon and you could have a kit of parts delivered at the next Club Meeting!
