Club Meeting, 29 April 2024

Pretty important one this:

• The Knettishall hut, still in position, has been condemned
  • we have a temp replacement courtesy of James Ladell, but it cannot be plumbed in for the loo until the old one is removed
  • meanwhile the insulated trailer will provide a similar sized replacement for shelter, but is hardly a step forward
• The Committee would like to spend some of our capital funds to make significant improvements to Knettishall
  • we have security of tenure with at least a 14 year lease
  • previous attempts to find another site have all been thwarted
  • we can do so much better if we invest the cash we have
• This will require membership approval, so
  • an EGM has been called for Wednesday 22 May (the following Monday is a Bank Holiday)
  • it will immediately precede the usual Monday meeting
  • Ron Gray has been tasked to present the proposition and in discussion at the meeting we should be able to resolve issues, improve the amenities
• Even more immediately, the Wacky Combat 2024 competition kicks off next Sunday 5 May
  • Bring or buy BBQ
  • the weather is looking promising and bright
  • get your name in Teamup…please, its terribly hard to guess at numbers when many people leave their cards under the desk until a big reveal on the day
  • Ron Gray would appreciate some help on Saturday 4 May prepping the site (also in Teamup)
