Club Meeting, 25 March 2024

An interesting, and better attended, meeting which featured an excellent presentation from Vic about the introduction and deployment of Buccaneers to the RAF for NATO defence operations.

  • Stonham Barns static show took place the day before. Many thanks to the members who put on the show in horrible conditions. Ron Gray took a few snaps. Click on a picture to expand/scroll through:
  • The Knettishall hut strip down will commence Friday 5 April, giving a whole weekend for folk to contribute. It will take a fair bit of work. Let Ron Gray know if you can help

  • Vic has succeeded in setting up a rolling NOTAM to ‘protect’ our airspace for a 2 mile radius up to 1000ft. We may fly planes <25Kg to this height, but note that it doesn’t alter our need for vigilance. We are registered as a BMFA site and must renew the NOTAM every 3 months

  • Alex Ladell would appreciate pictures and flying videos from anyone attending Knettishall. Contact him via the Facebook link on every page of this site

  • Wacky Combat:
    • Two more steeds prepped and ready. Have a look at the Wacky Combat area to find members builds. I have also added some ‘builders experience’ notes, supplementing the instructions. They may help those building a ButchBird.
    • To give everyone time to complete their own steed, Ron is expecting the first competition to be a Sunday towards the end of April, possibly early May. This will feature a bring your own/pay as you go BBQ.
