Knettishall Site Preparation for 15 May 2022

We had a cracking turnout of members on the 21st April to sweep and weed the hard areas, ahead of surface maintenance on the 23rd.

It’s a big area and my photos don’t do justice to all the people who were there and doing the hard grind for everyone’s benefit. But one picture from the 21st illustrates the work involved in this preparation stage…

Then, on the 23rd the heavy mob arrived, with more than shovels and brooms, and a lot more people, to resurface some of the worst patches of deteriorated WW2 concrete. The heading picture tells a story, and there are more in a brief photo report, again on the Knettishall page.

To get the area marked up and fully prepared for 15 May BBQ & Record attempt there will be at least one more ‘site day’. Everyone is welcome, but we haven’t yet fixed a day. When we do, it will be highlighted on the website Home Page and a news item will be posted.
