Freedom Day, 19 July 2021

Vic Blackwood, Club Secretary, sent the following email to all members, on 18 July 2021:

‘Hi,

Well, Boris and the other clowns in the circus (sorry, I meant cabinet) have had their way and all restrictions are lifted as of tomorrow! (We can ignore the fact that we can’t freely travel abroad and the virus is running out-of-control in many areas of the country, Boris doesn’t need to self-isolate ((even ‘though Savid is Covid +ve)) because he has a free-pass and they clearly has no idea of what to do next. (Rant over!!!)

Seriously, although we can now officially get back to our old “normal” habits, I would ask you to remain cautious for a bit longer. There are Club Members who have been isolating, or have family members in that category and it would be a shame to get careless now. I would suggest that you  need to remember that your first task is to avoid catching this bloody virus. Your second task is to avoid passing on the virus, should you become infected. Keep that in mind!

The spell of fine weather may well result in more flyers on site. The removal of restrictions does not remove the need for the Track & Trace  procedures and thus please continue to use the Team Up Calendars to log your intentions and actual attendance at Knettishall and Rougham. Honington is already catered for by the requirement to log-in via Mark Hinton.

Cheers,

Vic’

Editors contribution: Please bear in mind – 6 of every 10 deaths to COVID-19 have been those who were previously advised to shield (Govt figures for England).
